EGTF Masters Course June 2009

 15 - 20 June 2009, Darenth Valley GC, Kent

Another EGTF Masters Course was completed recently at my Golf Club and the two successful candidates now have a wealth of extra knowledge and confidence to take forward in their coaching careers.

Betty Sworowski and Gordon Mackay decided it was time to upgrade their knowledge and it was a pleasure to see them both back on an extra learning course.

The Masters Course covers topics I believe are important in today's teaching market, and I set out to show the students the extra benefits of what this type of information can do for their careers.

The Course covers: Masters teaching lessons, putting biomechanics, advanced short game, Masters playing and skills tests, video analysis using cause and effect, performance coaching, and practice drills.

Gordon and Betty both came into the week with little expectations on the playing front, but with some words of wisdom, and a simple putting lesson, both managed to get through, which I know was a huge relief for them.

The final teaching exam is to give a first class putting lesson, and the quality and results that they both achieved on the last day was a joy to watch.  I think both will now be targeting the short game, especially putting, as they look to specialise in more advanced areas.

My congratulations go to both Gordon and Betty on their efforts during what was an exhausting week and I hope that this new knowledge will help push them both onto even greater heights in the coaching world.  They have sent me their feedback on the Course, which you can read below.

Bill Abbott - Master Teaching Professional and Course Instructor

"I was fortunate to have successfully attended the EGTF Masters Course at Darenth Valley from 15 - 20 June 2009.  I would like to take this opportunity to give a big thankyou to Bill, Pauline, EGTF Pro Pete Stopford and fellow EGTF Master Teaching Professional, Betty Sworowski.  The whole week exceeded my expectations in all respects.  The knowledge and techniques that I gained has given me a new level of teaching skills, confidence and motivation that I never thought possible.  EGTF Vice President, Bill Abbott is truly a credit to the profession.  I would recommend the EGTF and the EGTF Masters Course to anyone.  I honestly believe the EGTF Masters Course is a 'must have' for all EGTF Pro's."

Gordon Mackay - Master Teaching Professional, Channel Golf Academy

"I can only echo ALL the comments made by Gordon in his testimonial.  It truly was a fantastic week (including the weather!)  My confidence was a little low at the beginning of the week, but was lifted to high levels by the end of the week, thanks to Bill and not forgetting Pauline for her work behind the scenes.
