THE NEW TITLEIST AND COBRA DRIVERS FOR 2007

We've had square-headed, hexagonal and traditional pear-shaped drivers claiming the ability to straighten out our tee-shots.  Now look out for clubs with triangular heads aiming to re-shape our golf game.

From 1st May Titleist introduces two new drivers into the UK, including the elongated, triangular-style 907D1 with a tapered sole, which claims to deliver not only straighter shots, but longer and more forgiving, too.

Both the Titleist 907D1 and its new stablemate 907D2, feature a tapered, beta titanium face insert to help deliver maximum ball speed across the face and higher launch and lower spin when struck lower in the face.

The 907D2 has a more traditional profile and provides 'enhanced' weight distribution around the head to assist better players to work and shape the ball.  The club has already proved successful in the hands of Adam Scott in the Shell Houston Open.

In addition, the 907D2 is also being played by Ben Crane, Brad Faxon and Robert Gamez.

A complete menu of loft and shaft options is available through local Titleist Custom-fit outlets.  The 907 drivers will retail with a rrp of £299.00.

COBRA UNVEILS NEW ADDITIONS

Cobra Golf's answer to the latest square head technology is to produce drivers and fairway metals with deep or shallow face options - aimed at golfers who consider themselves 'better than average players' with the capability of generating faster ball speeds.

The new KING COBRA SPEED PRO DRIVERS (£257), hot on the heels of the Speed LD Driver series, have been designed to create a high launch, neutral ball flight and pro spin conditions for accomplished players.

The square face is available in either deep or shallow options for either more control or forgiveness.  Speed Pro fairway metals have matching technology and will cost £153 each.

I hope some of these new additions to the club market will help you hit it further and straighter.
