EGTF Master Teaching Professional, Peter Ledwidge, has accepted the position of Head Teaching Professional at a busy 22 bay driving range in Central Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity for Peter to further his coaching career and enhance his knowledge. An attachment to Falkirk Golf Club as "Teaching Professional" is also part of the package where Peter will be working with EGTF Master Teaching Professional, Stewart Craig, a Golf World Magazine Top 20 Coach. Peter's time will now be divided between Scotland and Mallorca with most of it being in Scotland. He leaves on 16th July to take up these new positions. The plan is to be in Mallorca at least one week every month and be available for lessons/custom fittings. |

Firstly a bit THANK YOU for 3 wonderful days of learning. Because of my arthritis there have been many times in the past few years when I seriously considered cancelling my membeship as I did not have the confidence to coach. But these three CPD days have turned that around totally and I know I can make a success of coaching and concentrating mainly on the short game. I can tell you that I was seriously only considering going on Day 2, the Short Game Analysis. However because I had to travel from Auckland, going for just one day seemed impractical, so I decided on doing all three. At the end of Day 1 I felt that I had already received my money's worth. Day 1 was a mind blowing, eye opening experience.
Day 2 was even better and I was beginning to feel as if I owed you some more money! It was awesome and as I have said previously, gave me a totally new lease on life. Can you imagine how I was anticipating Day 3? And then you go and change everything, and I mean everything about my putting stroke. I consider myself to be a reasonable to good putter, but the science behind what we learned convinced me that a change was needed. The third day was the icing on the cake and I now know that I can reduce anyone's scores by at least a couple of shots a round. I have already bought "The Rail" and the "Rythmiser" (the whippy putter) and look forward to all the questions I will be getting on the practice tee. I will keep you posted on my progress. I am also considering joining up with you in Thailand for the Masters Course, finances permitting. Lawrence Bredenkamp - EGTF Pro, New Zealand
The CPD week highlighted to me that it is so easy to become complacent with your current knowledge of the golf swing. The days we worked on the full swing, short-game and putting were so valuable that to describe it in a short paragraph does it no justice. Dr Paul Hurrion's putting method as used by Padraig Harrington, coupled with the corect specifications to the putter, was a highlight for me on the course. Also my chipping has improved out of sight thanks to Bill demonstrating correct body motion. I was able to use the information immediately with my next lessons and I was particularly proud when I managed to teach a 3 handicapper the skills with the 'new' full swing method. He remarked it was the best lesson he had received and was hitting so much further with superb ball flight and accuracy. CPD courses are a must for all golf coaches if they wish to keep abreast with current coaching methods. The courses will also benefit your own game, I guarantee it.
