C GROOVE PUTTERS - HANNA AND CALLIE FORGED

For many years the staff at the EGTF have been telling anyone who will listen about the benefits of the C Groove technology.  We are fortunate to have the inventor of the C Groove Putter, Harold Swash, as an honorary member of the EGTF, and many of the theories on putting that are taught on the Diploma Course these days are Harold's thoughts on the correct mechanics that will enable a more repeatable stroke.

The C Groove phenomenon has taken all the Tours by storm and as they are proven to roll the ball better than any other putter on the market.  It now means that over 150 Pro's have one of Yes Golf's models in their bag.

The newest additions to the C Groove family are the Hanna and Callie Forged, bringing the total number of models to 16.  The Hanna is a large centre shafted mallet with a long sight line down the middle, which is very good for alignment.  EGTF Staff Instructor, David Ames, has just used this model to win the EGTF East Algarve Pro Am, on the devilishly difficult Quinta Da Ria and Cima Golf Courses.

The Callie Forged is a beautiful looking blade, resembling the old Ping anser shape, with a different black body and a bronze C Groove section, making it an extremely striking looking putter.  Both roll the ball superbly as you would expect with any C Groove, and make fine additions to the Yes Golf range of equipment.  All models can be viewed online at www.yesgolf.co.uk

TAYLORMADE TP GOLF BALLS

Golf ball manufacturers are continually striving for ultimate excellence when it comes to producing their newest offerings into the ball market.  Taylormade decided recently that it wanted to get involved in this very lucrative end of golf retail and has produced two new balls for the world golfing arena.

Taylormade decided to hire the services of the top man in the ball industry, Dean Snell, the person who created the Pro v1 and asked him to develop a ball that not only the Pro's can play, but would also be accepted into the amateur ranks as well.  He came up with two balls, the Tour preferred red and black, with the TP red offering a lower, more penetrating flight for those who create lots of clubhead speed but maybe launch the ball too high.  This is currently being played by Sergio Garcia, and the TP black for people who have a lower ball flight and who are looking to try and launch it at a little higher angle for more carry.

There is obviously a massive amount of research that goes into golf ball technology these days, with different covers and inner cores to produce different types of flight for various swing speeds, but for most of us we just want to know that it will go in the hole in the fewest possible shots!!

Bill Abbott commented: "I have tried both balls and I personally prefer the TP black.  It feels a little firmer off the putter face which is something I like, but both performed extremely well for distance, spin and durability."

It is definitely a worthy adversary for the Pro v and the many other premium quality balls on the market and all you really have to decide is whether to bet on red or black.
