EGTF Retrain Days June 2008

The first EGTF Retrain Course took place at Darenth Valley Golf Course, Kent on 12/13 June 2008, and went down extremely well with the people who attended.

On the first morning we covered the NVQ Level 2 workbook and how to complete all of the sections, then moved on to EGTF teaching techniques and how and why we should use certain methods.

In the afternoon we moved down to the practice ground where we gave members the opportunity to go over the basic teaching and communication drills that we use on the Diploma Course.  They gave a simple half hour lesson that I could assess and use as evidence for the NVQ workbook.

On the second day we looked at teaching children and video analysis in the morning, which is always good to go over as it is vitally important in today's teaching world.  After lunch we concentrated on some of the short game aspects, including advanced putting techniques.

I think these type of extra training courses will be extremely useful for the members to just refresh their teaching skills or renew any areas that they feel are weak.

I look forward to meeting up with some more members later in the year at the other retrain courses planned.
