EGTF Master Professional, Martin Park has just been voted the GCA Europe Clubmaker of the Year in Denmark for the second year running - 2008 and 2009.  It's a prestigious award in the club building community and the first time ever someone has won it back to back in Denmark.  Martin says, "I've beaten a lot of good names to this award, so I'm well chuffed!"

EGTF Professional Devlyn Fraser has a Junior Academy at Umkomaas Golf Club, just south of Durban, South Africa.

"We have over 40 kids varying in age from 3 to 14, including a dozen girls and even 3 left handers.  Luckily they don't all attend every week.  I have four assistant coaches who regularly help me to manage all the kids.  Lately we have had some mums and dads joining the juniors, with a view to taking up golf.  It's great!

On 14 November we had a 'past Junior Member' who is now quite famous, Tim Clark, as a special visitor.  He is number 38 on World Ranking now.  Tim is still a Member of UGC, with a courtesy handicap of +5 who participates in some of our Club events.  Tim signed autographs, demonstrated some of his awesome skills and generally encouraged and showed a lot of interest in the kids, and they were all delighted.  Tim's here to play in the Nedbank Challenge (Africa's Major) at Sun City, coming up soon.

Garth Mulroy, also a past Junior and current Member has just qualified for the PGA Tour.  I wonder how many Clubs can boast two PGA Tour players?"

I recently completed the EGTF Diploma Course and enjoyed it thoroughly.  The Course instruction was geared more towards golf teaching methodologies and exposure to actual teaching.  The best thing about the Course is the approach of correcting the root of the problem rather than the effects.  This Course has reinforced my enthusiasm and passion to further my golf coaching as a career, as it has given me more knowledge and confidence in my teaching ability.

I highly recommend the Diploma Course to anyone who is passionate about golf coaching.  The benefits are real: very intensive Course, however, well worth it.

Congratulations to EGTF Master Professional, Mark Hook who has been promoted from Head Professional to Director of the Teaching Academy at La Manga Club, Spain.

Congratulations to EGTF Professional, Geoff Evans who will be moving to take over as the Academy Director of Girona Golf Club in Spain on 1 September 2009.  Geoff would like to thank EGTF Staff Instructor, Paul Tolley who was extremely helpful in him getting the position at Girona Golf Club.  Paul helped with a presentation for use in the three interviews that Geoff had, to get the job.

Geoff would also like to point out to EGTF Pro's or anyone thinking of doing the EGTF Diploma or Masters Course, that he beat 26 PGA Pro's to the get the position at Girona Golf Club and that nobody should have any hesitation in doing the courses or applying for any available jobs on the market.
