NVQ Level 2 Workbook

EGTF members in the UK will have been informed of the opportunity to sign up for an NVQ Level 2 Activity and Leadership in Golf qualification.

This is a great chance for us to get involved in these type of awards through Bristol College and our funding partner RPG.  The Government are able to give out funding to Colleges and Universities to fill places for these NVQ qualifications, which in turn allows other parties to apply for this funding.

NVQ's have been around for many years and are still regarded as an industry standard by the Government, so it makes sense that if you get the chance to get involved then you should, as it is another certificate recognised in the UK.  The activity leadership workbook is a generic qualification that is used by many different sports, but it is seen as a good way to get in the NVQ system.  It is hoped that if we can fill enough places this year, it will enable us to apply for higher levels of NVQ next year.

As with most Governement recognised qualifications, it involves a lot of evidence gathering from previous coaching lessons and some fairly simple hypothetical form filling.  I am just finishing my workbook, and I would say that although some of the work is pretty basic, it is actually a good exercise to do for your own personal development.

We are able to offer a retrain course for the members in conjunction with the funding we can get for signing people up to the NVQ.  The retrain day is not related to the actual workbook itself and only allows members to go over the basic skills learnt on the EGTF Diploma Course.  So if you can't make any of the dates for the retrain courses, but would like to apply for the NVQ, please let us know in Head Office and we will get an enrolment form and workbook sent out to you as soon as possible.

The final date for applying for the NVQ is 25 July 2008.
