Welcome Page

Dear Members

Welcome to the Autumn 2008 edition of World Golf Pro.  Sorry for being a little late but computer problems and a much needed family holiday!! have hampered the progress of this edition.

There are a number of new offers this month, so have a look through and see if there is anything that takes your eye.

Congratulations again go to Paul Hurrion, whose work with Padraig Harrington has enabled him to win another two majors this season.  I have known Paul for many years, through his work with the EGTF, and know that he doesn't seek the limelight, but it is always nice to praise someone for the quality of work that they have delivered, and that has enabled Padraig to fulfil his dreams.

Also, our congratulations go to EGTF Professional, Allan Renz, who works at Chelsea Piers in New York, USA.  He has just been voted in the top 50 golf teachers in the United States.  These awards are always welcomed for the individual, and help to confirm that we as an organisation are moving in the right direction.

One of the new offers in this edition is from Orka Golf, a new equipment company that I think will make a big impact on the golf scene.  They are offering excellent club making and fitting options with their range of clubs, and their blades have already beaten Mizuno recently in a club equipment test.

The recent CPD week in Scotland was very informative, and Stewart Craig, EGTF Staff Instructor and one of the top teaching professionals anywhere around, treated us to three days of top quality information from club fitting to static and dynamic balance and the complete guide to teaching putting.  You can read the feedback from one of the attendees in this edition.

Stewart also triumphed in the Pro Am at Falkirk, to add to his growing list of playing achievements, and I am sure he will be looking to defend his title in Thailand in the next couple of weeks.

Our programs for CPD and Masters Courses for 2009 will be available before Christmas, so look out for the courses or seminars that you feel may enhance or repair your teaching skills, as this is viewed by other organisations as the way coaching should be moving.
